Invited :He was invited in World Poetry Conference of Yugoslavia in the year 1986.He was invited in "Indian Festival" in Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria in the year 1988. He was invited in Japan by "Bangladesh Japan friendship Society'. He visited Malayasia as an Observer of "UNESCO's" Conference in the year 1995.Among 10 Indian Observers, he was one of them to visit Bangladesh by the invitation of Sekh Hasina .

Recent Awards : He was awarded "Rammohan Puroskar" for his total literary performence and "Vidyasagar Puroskar" for juvenal literature.  He was awarded 'Saraswati Samman'  for 'Prathom Alo' . The award , instituted by the K K Birla Foundation .

Attachments : Now he is attach with the Desh magazine published by A B P Ltd. He is the President of "Pather Panchali Organsation" 

He became Sheriff of Kolkata in the year 2002 .
